Australia - HOI4 - 01 Jan 1936 (II)

Let's continue the introduction. Here is the political screen again.
To the right of the picture of the PM is a box with "Additional Militia Training". This is what I have chosen from the Focus Tree. It takes 70 days to complete one of theses items on the tree and upon completion of this Focus I will receive 5 Army Experience points (XP) and a research bonus.
Top-centre, right of the 17 factories there are 4 zeros. The first from the left is command points then the next 3 show how many XPs I have for the Army, Navy and Air Forces.
Let us take a closer look at the Army. Beneath the 100 convoy icon there is a button with a tank on it which opens the Recruit and Deploy menu. I have 3 templates available
 for an Infantry Division,
a Cavalry Division,
and an Armoured Division. Army XPs can be used to change these templates.
For example, 11 battalions of infantry in the Infantry division with no support units is a bit useless so I shall definitely change that. I have 3 ways to gain XPs. In combat, thru training and from the Focus tree. I shall therefore put my army in a training programme. I click on the cog with rifles button beneath the word 'Battle' bottom-center in the pic below.
To the left of the Recruit button the hand holding a spanner opens the Production Menu. I have 4 Military Factories and 2 Naval Dockyards available. I assign them to produce the items below.
The next button to the left opens the Construction Menu. There are 4 Civilian Factories which I use to produce a further Civilian Factory first and a Military factory next. This a slow process.
There are 3 red-bordered symbols beneath the XP totals. They are alerts which inform me of a situation. The first informs me that I am producing Artillery but none of my templates require artillery. I'll fix that when I have enough Army XP.
The second tells me that I have low manpower. Not much I can do about that at the moment.
Finally I am told that I have insufficient Oil for my production. I could use a Civilian Factory in exchange for oil imports but I can't spare one from Construction so my Heavy Cruiser will be built slower.
There are buttons bottom-right which show different maps. A useful one is the Resources map.
That is most of the preparation done so I shall start the clock at full speed. After a minute we already have 15 Jan 1936. I click on the Logistics button, to the left of the 3 alert buttons and you can see that items are already being produced.
I am producing 0.1 artillery pieces per day and I have 2 guns stockpiled. I also have a deficit of 4,700
rifles. So we are on the way shaping the future of Australia. In the next post I shall discuss strategy.
