Germany - HOI4 - Alpine Blitzkrieg

02 Oct 1936: I declare war on Austria.
The Foreign Ministry transmits it to the world....
....and the OKW (Oberkommando der Wehrmacht) activates their plan. On paper it looks good.
03 Oct 1936: The World News responds....
04 Oct 1936: Looking positive except for one unimportant battle in the Upper Alps.
05 Oct 1936: The Austrian defences are penetrated along the southern bank of the Danube.
07 Oct 1936: The Hermann Göring Werke focus is completed.
The next focus is KdF-Wagen which means more CFs.
Leadership purge in the USSR! Ministers and Generals are disappearing by the dozen.
09 Oct 1936: The offensive is gaining momentum - all major Austrian cities are threatened.
12 Oct 1936: Vienna and Salzburg have fallen while Graz and Innsbruck (the provisional capital) are about to be overrun.
13 Oct 1936: Graz is taken...
….and it is over for the Austrians.
At the Treaty of Innsbruck I have enough victory points to annex all of Austria.
14 Oct 1936: The captured equipment will be put to good use.
I start justifying a war goal against Czechoslovakia. Since their independence is guaranteed by the Kingdom of Romania I shall also tackle them if they join the war which they probably will. They have beaucoup oil.
15 Oct 1936: The Propaganda Ministry is in high gear.
France is not reacting.
Neither are the British.
17 Oct 1936: I detail von Manstein's 1st Armee to garrison Austria.
Rommel's victorious Armee Süd is ordered to our border with Czechoslovakia.
I use the Army XP gained to flesh out my armoured division structure. After all I have 235 days to kill before I can go to war again.
29 Oct 1936: I have to repay the MEFO funds. It costs me 40 PP but I'm now rid of them. A small price to pay for gaining the Rhineland.
More consolidation and expansion in the next post. Until soon....
