Germany - HOI4 - Bolshevik Bashing (III)

08 Oct 1941: Now that the worst of "General Mud" is behind us it's time to take Moscow. This is one of many similar thrusts ordered.
13 Oct 1941: The Central Front south of Moscow. We have also finished researching Expanded Special Forces Program.
The Panzerfaust technology would be good for our frontline troops
22 Oct 1941: Rocket Artillery Upgrade I has been researched.  The Soviets are stubbornly resisting are advances south of the Don river. The situation is precarious.
Time to think about developing the PzKw. Tiger, a heavy tank. We've encountered something called KV-I here in Russia and it got our commanders very worried. Their T-34 is good too but luckily there aren't many of these new tanks. Our Panther is already designed and will be more than a match for them.
29 Oct 1941: The Japanese have annexed Shanxi - wherever that is....
07 Nov 1941: This is the news I have been waiting for. We've taken Moscow!!!!
Losses are heavy for our forces but the Soviets have lost over 5 million dead. How long can they continue to resist?
They Allies are beginning to take losses too; mostly Finns and French.
04 Dec 1941: Construction IV has been researched. This sector of the front is north of Moscow. The next stop is the Ural mountains.
We research Assembly Line Production next.
12 Nov 1941: The focus Plan Z has been completed. The situation in northern Caucasus has been stabilized. Time to go on the offensive. Luckily the weather is milder here than in Moscow.
We have started designing a new battleship, the Bismarck Class.
The next focus is Wunderwaffe.
By sending troops to other sectors of the front the Soviets have left Stalingrad too lightly defended. We launch an attack on a broad front.
25 Dec 1941: Christmas Day again. A year ago we celebrated our victory in Warsaw. Modern Blitzkrieg has been researched and we choose Fire Brigades next.
26 Dec 1941: The offensive east of Voronezh is looking promising. This is to cover the left flank of our advance on Stalingrad and the right flank of Kesselring's Armee Mitte.
03 Jan 1942: Our troops have broken through the Soviet defences east of Voronezh. Our leaders have also signed a decree to ban Communism. About time if I may add.
I think the AI took that a bit too personally - where's the enemy? Maybe they've developed the Romulan cloaking device.
12 Jan 1942: No, they're back. We can now start producing the Bismarck Class battleships.
We shall design a Battlecruiser to keep them company.
The Soviets have lost another million troops.
Our forces are getting very close to Stalingrad!
I pause here. The British are building a mighty Royal Air Force!
This shows how vast Russia is and how much of it has been conquered during the last year. We started where the 'M' in Germany is....
I have used the pause to come up with an idea of how to better organize the frontline. Instead of moving armies around I shall be moving divisions within the armies. Divisions are being reassigned to the army which controls that sector of the front where they are currently located. Rommel's Armee Nord has been taken out of the frontline (see below). Kesselring's Armee Mitte is now on the left flank of the Army Group. Their mission is to capture Novgorod then Kazan further east.
Rommel's army has had all orders cancelled except to eliminate that enemy pocket. They will then become an OKW reserve army.
Their new mission....
….and where they are in the big picture. There are two Panzerarmeen that need to be organized for the final phase of the campaign. The Soviet industrial complex at the Urals.
So I have some planning to do. Bis bald....
