Prussia - HOI4 - Frying the French (III)

20 Jun 1915: Now it is the French who don't have enough reserves in the west.
The French are under a lot of pressure in the east too. Our superior numbers are beginning to show.
Nothing new in Morocco but I have telegraphed that I want more results than simply 'defending the Atlas Mountains against inferior forces'.
In the south our forces still have the initiative despite considerable French opposition.
22 Jun 1915: In Morocco our forces go on the offensive - finally. 
Offensives in the south too!
25 Jun 1915: In Eastern France the enemy units north of Dijon are under attack from the east and the west. That 'finger' pointing north is tying up a lot of my troops. When it's gone those troops will push south.
No less than 5 armies are involved here. The three shown top-left  plus 4th (pink) and 10th (turquoise) too.
27 Jun 1915: A new thrust near to the Swiss border. Some of our troops fought here 3 years ago so they know the terrain.
01 Jul 1915: We lost a merchant. The Kriegsmarine has been largely avoided by the French navy.
02 Jul 1915: The 'finger' is collapsing and 7 French divisions have been encircled. 8th Army from Serbia is applying the pressure.
04 Jul 1915: The French are now 74% towards capitulation. No mercy this time, we are going for the jugular.
06 Jul 1915: Progress in western France too. Lorient is about to fall and La Rochelle is in our sights. The French have moved their capital (again) to Bordeaux so let's go knock on the door.
08 Jul 1915: We are advancing in eastern France too. Let's march down the Rhône valley.
09 Jul 1915: 82% towards capitulation - the end is near.
12 Jul 1915: Is this really Morocco??? We are advancing on a broad front. You have to go all the way to Tunisia so don't fall asleep....
Naval action in the English Channel with both sides losing two destroyers.
16 Jul 1915: Off the African coast we lose a destroyer and the French lose a protected cruiser.
On land the road to Tunisia is wide open.
18 Jul 1915: 84% towards capitulation and 416,000 dead. The French are paying the price for their aggression.
25 Jul 1915: We've taken La Rochelle. Bordeaux and Limoges are next. The French right flank is collapsing. I can smell total victory.
01 Aug 1915: Our R&D continues despite the war and Recon Company II is now available to our divisions.
We are kicking in the door at Bordeaux. Limoges has already been captured.
03 Aug 1915: I select Field Hospital II as our next research project.
We have lost another merchant but we have a lot more where that came from.
99% towards capitulation and 60,000 casualties in the last 14 days alone. Game-over, France.
07 Aug 1915: A final thrust towards Lyon and Annechy in the French Alps.
Victory!!!! I have accumulated 1270 victory points and only need 1240 to take France lock, stock and barrel so I do just that.
With that one click Germany has just annexed the entire French Empire! The Treaty of Marseille will be recognized as the beginning of the German Empire being the de facto #1 world power.
13 Aug 1915: We still have to terminate Tunisia so the war continues.
The enormity of the victory is beginning to sink in. OK, the British have Australia, Canada and India but the world is big enough for both of us. I hope this is the beginning of a new relationship with the British Empire. As equals. After all, King George V and I our cousins and we had the same Grandmother, Empress Victoria.

Welcome to a new game as Italy. Unlike Australia, Italy is already at war with Abyssinia, it is a fascist nation and has much larger armed forces. However, Mussolini came to power a dozen years before Hitler and his large military is equipped with WW1 equipment, he has only one good general who can't be everywhere at the same time and Mussolini is an idiot. Not the best pre-requisites to build a global empire. But we have to make do with what we have....so here is Italy at the start. I create an Alpine army and give them a fairly good commander then...  ...order them to a port. They are going to Abyssinia. I grab the rest of the army...  ...assign a lousy commander then...  ...order them to the Austrian border to remind Hitler that we also have plans for the alpine nation. In Eritrea we do the same...  .but this army gets the good general, Giovanni Messe. The Abyssinian troops are red because they are the enemy. Now the same again in Somali...

Germany - HOI4 - Looking Eastwards

18 Nov 1936: Research on Concentrated Industry II has completed. I choose to research the SP-AT Marder II which will make something useful out of my useless Pz. Is and Pz. IIs. 05 Dec 1936: The doctrine Delay is selected. The +15% organization is very useful. I also spend 150 PPs on Henschel tank designers with emphasis on speed and reliability 08 Dec 1936: I upgrade 8 more infantry divisions. 16 Dec 1936: The focus KdF-Wagen is completed. I choose Treaty with the USSR next - a joint tank design venture. I also deploy another 8 infantry divisions. 19 Dec 1936: AT-gun development has been completed. Time to develop a Fallschirmjäger force. 27 Dec 1936: Two fully trained motorized infantry divisions are assigned to Guderian's new Panzerarmee. I say new because the forces used against Austria were barely a Corps-sized unit and in need of reform. A couple of days later the SP-AT Marder II becomes available. Germany - HOI4 - A New Perspective

    What I like about playing Germany is thanks to Versailles Treaty all German forces actually begin in Germany. No colonies, no foreign wars so no scrolling around the world. A recent update to HOI4 introduced a Focus Tree which allows an alternative path for Germany without Hitler. Selecting Oppose Hitler plunges Germany into a civil war; Wehrmacht versus Nazis. If the Wehrmacht prevails the options pictured below are available. Unfortunately Germany can't go around conquering Europe instead has to wait for the war to come to him - somewhat boring. This is the more 'historical' path, i.e. the Nazis are in power and have more opportunities coupled with more disadvantages. Only a handful of nations like Nazis... So let's try to make the most of this dilemma. (I won't be giving such a detailed narrative in this campaign - hopefully those who have followed my previous campaigns have already grasped the basics.) First I need to set up my research project...
