Prussia - HOI4 - Germany and France

04 Mar 1914: The most crucial deficiency is the shortage of field artillery so I add the new MF to their production and plan for the next to go there too.
The Kriegsmarine needs to show more global presence. I reinforce 4th Schlachtschwadron (Battle Squadron)….
….and base it at Casablanca in German Morocco. The Great War began because of the Agadir incident which is just down the coast. We already have 3 infantry divisions stationed there which are challenging France's dominance in the region.
I also deploy an air wing of Fokker M5s at the nearby airfield.
Looking good.
I plan building up the port to level 6.....
….also level 6 infrastructure is on the agenda.
06 Mar 1914: The air doctrine Bomb Sighting is finished.
It's time for a new Battleship so I select the Bayern Class.
17 Mar 1914: 7th Army has returned home from the Soviet Union where they proudly showed the German flag. Welcome home!
21 Mar 1914: The development of the Seaplane Tender I has been completed but we have no seaplanes so it won't go into production at the moment.
The Kriegsmarine needs a modern destroyer so I choose the S49 Class ship.
23 Mar 1914: The Mexican Opposition finally won the long drawn-out civil war.
The Garde-Panzer-Division has completed training and is assigned to 1st Panzerarmee in Flanders.
24 Mar 1914: The ousted former Mexican President flees to Spain.
25 Mar 1914: While in Mexico there is a military coup. These guys know how to party!
30 Mar 1914: Voilà! A Walloons Infantry Division. That's what happens when you have more colonels than lieutenant-colonels....
I assign it to 4th Army....
….while a 2nd division enters training.
07 Apr 1914: Good news. I can now start issuing Gas Masks to the troops.
We need to start motorizing the infantry so we start developing Early Motorized technology.
The show of force along the French border plus my policy in former-French Morocco is a constant reminder who is the master in Europe. There is a more to come. I don't intend going to war though because the last thing I want to do is recreate the Entente. A no-win strategy. There are two other options: Russia and/or Turkey. Neither are the best friends of the UK. Bis bald.

Welcome to a new game as Italy. Unlike Australia, Italy is already at war with Abyssinia, it is a fascist nation and has much larger armed forces. However, Mussolini came to power a dozen years before Hitler and his large military is equipped with WW1 equipment, he has only one good general who can't be everywhere at the same time and Mussolini is an idiot. Not the best pre-requisites to build a global empire. But we have to make do with what we have....so here is Italy at the start. Germany - HOI4 - Looking Eastwards

18 Nov 1936: Research on Concentrated Industry II has completed. I choose to research the SP-AT Marder II which will make something useful out of my useless Pz. Is and Pz. IIs. 05 Dec 1936: The doctrine Delay is selected. The +15% organization is very useful. I also spend 150 PPs on Henschel tank designers with emphasis on speed and reliability 08 Dec 1936: I upgrade 8 more infantry divisions. 16 Dec 1936: The focus KdF-Wagen is completed. I choose Treaty with the USSR next - a joint tank design venture. I also deploy another 8 infantry divisions. 19 Dec 1936: AT-gun development has been completed. Time to develop a Fallschirmjäger force. 27 Dec 1936: Two fully trained motorized infantry divisions are assigned to Guderian's new Panzerarmee. I say new because the forces used against Austria were barely a Corps-sized unit and in need of reform. A couple of days later the SP-AT Marder II becomes available. Italy - HOI4 - Danzig or War?

06 Apr 1939 - Let us stroll around Europe and survey the mood at the brink of war. The Soviets have a very bad opinion of Germany. That is good news. My wars did that. The same in France. That is very good news. Poland needs all the friends it can get. To be expected. 07 April and the insatiable Adolf Hitler is grabbing more territory. 20 Apr 1939 and Radio Detection has been researched. I now select Advanced Machine Tools . I must keep my industry as modern as possible. I'm satisfied with the situation. 09 May 1939 and Computing Machine research is completed. I can now research Decryption-Frequency Analysis . It sounds interesting, 14 Jun 1939 - Decision day for Poland and they quite rightly presumed that Germany would want more than Danzig alone. Germany now has a justification to attack Poland (game rules). Meanwhile at home my next focus will be Carrier Effort .
