Prussia - HOI4 - Converging on Constantinople (II)
06 Sep 1918: I know that the front in Hejaz is a long way from Constantinople but there is movement here. The amphibious assault has been activated and the Turks appear to be withdrawing.
The front in Thrace will give soon.
08 Sep 1918: All 5 divisions of 13th Army have taken Aqaba in an unopposed landing. I send one division south while the other 4 head north into Palestine.
16 Sep 1918: In NE Turkey we begin an offensive to capture Mosul.
While east of Ankara we attempt to encircle 4 enemy divisions.
18 Sep 1918: In Thrace reinforcements have blunted our attack a little.
20 Sep 1918: Our attack isn't making the headway I had hoped for but I believe that we shall prevail in the end. The Turks appear to have little reserves.
A new fighter aircraft, the Fokker D.VII has been developed.
I select the Gotha G.V tactical bomber next.
The Turkish front in northern Iraq is about to break.
They are now 55% towards capitulation.
Mobile units from 1st Panzerarmee have been ordered to take Baghdad and Basra. We need to grab all the victory points available.
The front from Lebanon to Iran. Not many forces involved here but there are cities to capture.
We are much nearer to Constantinople than our comrades in Thrace but our advance is easier to block.
23 Sep 1918: The focus Construction Effort has been received.
I select Aviation Effort III next.
I send a couple of divisions towards Izmir in an outflanking maneuver. Hopefully the move will mess up their defences further east.
26 Sep 1918: Another major naval defeat for the Ottomans. 99 merchants sunk! If they were carrying troops that would be 33 divisions. Maybe they were troops from Palestine because we have almost no opposition there.
29 Sep 1918: The western theatre of operations More movement in Asia Minor than Thrace at the moment.
That's all for this post. Again, which army will reach Constantinople first? Bis bald....
