Prussia - HOI4 - Home Front Action

25 Dec 1918: The Turks need armed forces so I start a Lend Lease programme. This will also lower their ability to escape from being a puppet.
While in the region I upgrade or create the Port facilities,
the coastal fortifications....
….and an airbase in the Aegean Islands region..
I also plan extensive construction in Albania, Macedonia and Epirus too. See the list left in the pic below.
Finally at home I plan a series of forts along our border with Austria-Hungary. There's no hurry here as I explained in my 'Glimpse of the Future'.
Well at least we don't have a shortage of Siege Artillery. I need to think of a way to create one. How on earth did our army lose over 7,000 field guns???? Did they just abandon them?
Now it is time to dissolve 7th Army which is garrisoning NW Russia. That isn't necessary anymore. So I select 12 untrained Festungs-Divisionen and put them in training.
The Armeeschule now has too many divisions assigned so I create Armeeschule 2 for the armour and mountain troops. I base it at Leipzig.
I cancel all 7th Army's orders....
….then transfer 7 trained Stoßtruppen-Divisionen to 10th Army.
There are 5 trained Ersatz-Divisionen which are assigned to Armee Arabien.
I put the remaining divisions in training.
7th Army was created after the end of hostilities with the Soviet Union.
I start deploying a Luftflotte to Polesie and Turkey accepts our lend lease.
01 Jan 1919: The new air wings are assigned to Eastern Poland.
02 Jan 1919: Air-reinforcements are sent to Ostpreussen
05 Jan 1919: I deploy a Luftflotte of fighter aircraft to defend the Baltic States.
I also ban Communism in the Reich.
09 Jan 1919: Our infantry receive Flamethrower I technology.
I next research Improved Light Machine Gun. That is the last of the 1918 technologies.
13 Jan 1919: The U-Bootdivision 1 had accumulated 46 U-Booten so I split it up to create three more divisions. I assign them temporarily to Algiers.
16 Jan 1919: I send more air-crews to North Africa to increase the efficiency of the air wings stationed there.
18 Jan 1919: Finally I deploy 2 new fighter wings to Algiers.
I need better relations with cousin George in England. I never attacked England. They supported French folly in the Agadir Crisis.
20 Jan 1919: I assign 7 trained divisions to 10th Army. They now have their full compliment of 24 divisions.
The other 3 divisions I send to our border with Iran.
I also decide to send some lend lease to Albania.
It is the end of this post so I check the global picture.
The US still has no air force or navy.
That's all my screenshots used up so it's back to the campaign in accelerated mode although I must admit that I haven't yet figured out what that is exactly. Bis bald....

Welcome to a new game as Italy. Unlike Australia, Italy is already at war with Abyssinia, it is a fascist nation and has much larger armed forces. However, Mussolini came to power a dozen years before Hitler and his large military is equipped with WW1 equipment, he has only one good general who can't be everywhere at the same time and Mussolini is an idiot. Not the best pre-requisites to build a global empire. But we have to make do with what we have....so here is Italy at the start. Germany - HOI4 - Looking Eastwards

18 Nov 1936: Research on Concentrated Industry II has completed. I choose to research the SP-AT Marder II which will make something useful out of my useless Pz. Is and Pz. IIs. 05 Dec 1936: The doctrine Delay is selected. The +15% organization is very useful. I also spend 150 PPs on Henschel tank designers with emphasis on speed and reliability 08 Dec 1936: I upgrade 8 more infantry divisions. 16 Dec 1936: The focus KdF-Wagen is completed. I choose Treaty with the USSR next - a joint tank design venture. I also deploy another 8 infantry divisions. 19 Dec 1936: AT-gun development has been completed. Time to develop a Fallschirmjäger force. 27 Dec 1936: Two fully trained motorized infantry divisions are assigned to Guderian's new Panzerarmee. I say new because the forces used against Austria were barely a Corps-sized unit and in need of reform. A couple of days later the SP-AT Marder II becomes available. Germany - HOI4 - A New Perspective

    What I like about playing Germany is thanks to Versailles Treaty all German forces actually begin in Germany. No colonies, no foreign wars so no scrolling around the world. A recent update to HOI4 introduced a Focus Tree which allows an alternative path for Germany without Hitler. Selecting Oppose Hitler plunges Germany into a civil war; Wehrmacht versus Nazis. If the Wehrmacht prevails the options pictured below are available. Unfortunately Germany can't go around conquering Europe instead has to wait for the war to come to him - somewhat boring. This is the more 'historical' path, i.e. the Nazis are in power and have more opportunities coupled with more disadvantages. Only a handful of nations like Nazis... So let's try to make the most of this dilemma. (I won't be giving such a detailed narrative in this campaign - hopefully those who have followed my previous campaigns have already grasped the basics.) First I need to set up my research project...
