Italy - HOI4 - Italy Calling

08 Oct 1939 and the Soviet Union is still busy in the East.
13 October and Germany is not even attacking.
21 October and Denmark capitulates. Adolf finally has a victory to celebrate.
23 Oct 1939: Germany is now the largest contributor to World Tension.
31 October sees my first six Divisione Costieras arrive and they are placed in training
Four trained infantry divisions are assigned to Army Czech.
Also my focus Naval Air Effort has completed.
France is going nuclear....
Meanwhile I select Submarine Effort as my next Focus. I need to modernize the navy too. Everything needs modernizing in Italy.
01 Nov 1939: I decide to give Romania 120 anti-tank guns via Lend Lease.
They are grateful.
The UK having problems with India again.
02 November and the stack of units in northern Romania is quite a mix.
09 Nov 1939 sees the arrival of Advanced Machine Tools.
A new parachute division also arrives.
Then I choose to research Construction III.
20 more days before Germany receives a war justification against Switzerland.
20 November and the Germans are attacking the Romanian line again.
29 Nov 1939 and Switzerland becomes the next target.
That wont be easy to conquer if you have difficulties with Romania.
30 Nov 1939: No fighting - another Sitzkrieg. Switzerland hasn't even built border forts! That could be a mistake. I remember building forts before tackling Yugoslavia....
01 December and I can now build Littorio Class battleships
I select a modern battlecruiser next.
An overview of the Italian Navy. It is probably much larger than the German Kriegsmarine now because I can imagine that it has been pulverized by the Royal Navy.
03 Dec 1939 and we have researched Oil Processing.
The next research project will be Excavation II.
05 Dec 1939 and all is still quiet on the Western Front. Who needs France as an ally????
08 Dec 1939: The Romanian Front is asleep too.
10 December and finally some action.
These Allies are not going to defeat Germany by out-sleeping them. Until soon, folks.

28 Jan 1941: Just over one week after we responded to the brutal Soviet assault on Finland we have made considerable gains despite the many handicaps which have confronted us. Italy - HOI4 - Danzig or War?

06 Apr 1939 - Let us stroll around Europe and survey the mood at the brink of war. The Soviets have a very bad opinion of Germany. That is good news. My wars did that. The same in France. That is very good news. Poland needs all the friends it can get. To be expected. 07 April and the insatiable Adolf Hitler is grabbing more territory. 20 Apr 1939 and Radio Detection has been researched. I now select Advanced Machine Tools . I must keep my industry as modern as possible. I'm satisfied with the situation. 09 May 1939 and Computing Machine research is completed. I can now research Decryption-Frequency Analysis . It sounds interesting, 14 Jun 1939 - Decision day for Poland and they quite rightly presumed that Germany would want more than Danzig alone. Germany now has a justification to attack Poland (game rules). Meanwhile at home my next focus will be Carrier Effort . Prussia - HOI4 - Drang Nach Osten (I)

06 Feb 1917: The Soviets call Georgia into the conflict.... ….and Mongolia too. 11 Feb 1917: Deep penetrations on the Northern Front. 12 Feb 1917: I divert a few divisions from 6th Army south then east to support the southern flank. 14 Feb 1917: The first naval battle ends in a German victory. 19 Feb 1917: I order a couple of divisions to advance on the Soviet capital Petrograd. Two weeks into the campaign and the road to Moscow appears to be free of defenders. Oh, we have lost air superiority over Eastern Germany. 23 Feb 1917: I deploy 6 air wings from my reserves to remedy the situation, 26 Feb 1917: We are at the gates of both Petrograd and Moscow. 27 Feb 1917: I add more MFs to Infantry Equipment and Fokker CAS aircraft. We have captured Novgorod so I send 4 more divisions from 5th Army to Petrograd. 28 Feb 1917: A defeat? 8 old destroyers sunk a battleship and a light cruiser. Give them some medals. We have only 137 dead! Almost a Sunday stroll....
