Italy - HOI4 - Major Redeployment

01 Dec 1941: The conflict in the Alps continues but it appears that the British have vacated the area.
Technically that is a defensive measure but look what follows that focus. That would mean war if the Baltic States don't yield.
02 Dec 1941: At least Spain isn't a Comintern member but that could also change.
Spain has war goals against the UK. Now that is a surprise.
11 Dec 1941: Why not? They are only Ba.88s and they can't produce enough to become a threat to Italy. Also I can use the CFs.
12 Dec 1941: The Soviets have chosen the focus Claims in Baltic. In Europe the 3rd Reich is between us and the communists. Not in Asia Minor though.
23 Dec 1941: My modern submarine has completed research.
I select to research Direct Ground Support next.
A couple more projects end next month.
 I begin producing my new submarine.
This time I import more steel from the UK.
05 Jan 1942: I pause the game and Italy is still #3 in the world.
After sleeping on it I decide to deploy the bulk of my forces to the Turkish border with Russia. I don't have the ability to defeat the Soviets alone but I could hopefully set up strong defences on the Caucasus Mountains and wait for other nations to join in.
I've assigned my Army Czech to set up border positions.
I order my Army Mobile to the theatre...
...then my Army Yugoslavia.
I order it to the southern end of the front. I only see six Soviet divisions on the border.
My Army Italia gets new orders...
...to garrison the border area.
I put my parachute divisions in their own army...
...then the Army Germania is given new orders.
They join my armoured divisions at the border.
Finally my Army Riviera is ordered to Prague
 If the Soviets attack a Baltic nation I can hopefully send troops through Germany to help the nation.
I decide to start the focus Atlantic Fleet.
Oh, Germany appears to be in a bad mood.
I stop lend leasing my modern artillery to  the Free French.
 My own forces need them more than they do.
This is all just in case the Soviets start a war. I hope to grab the Caucasus while they are busy in the north.

28 Jan 1941: Just over one week after we responded to the brutal Soviet assault on Finland we have made considerable gains despite the many handicaps which have confronted us. Italy - HOI4 - Danzig or War?

06 Apr 1939 - Let us stroll around Europe and survey the mood at the brink of war. The Soviets have a very bad opinion of Germany. That is good news. My wars did that. The same in France. That is very good news. Poland needs all the friends it can get. To be expected. 07 April and the insatiable Adolf Hitler is grabbing more territory. 20 Apr 1939 and Radio Detection has been researched. I now select Advanced Machine Tools . I must keep my industry as modern as possible. I'm satisfied with the situation. 09 May 1939 and Computing Machine research is completed. I can now research Decryption-Frequency Analysis . It sounds interesting, 14 Jun 1939 - Decision day for Poland and they quite rightly presumed that Germany would want more than Danzig alone. Germany now has a justification to attack Poland (game rules). Meanwhile at home my next focus will be Carrier Effort . Prussia - HOI4 - Drang Nach Osten (I)

06 Feb 1917: The Soviets call Georgia into the conflict.... ….and Mongolia too. 11 Feb 1917: Deep penetrations on the Northern Front. 12 Feb 1917: I divert a few divisions from 6th Army south then east to support the southern flank. 14 Feb 1917: The first naval battle ends in a German victory. 19 Feb 1917: I order a couple of divisions to advance on the Soviet capital Petrograd. Two weeks into the campaign and the road to Moscow appears to be free of defenders. Oh, we have lost air superiority over Eastern Germany. 23 Feb 1917: I deploy 6 air wings from my reserves to remedy the situation, 26 Feb 1917: We are at the gates of both Petrograd and Moscow. 27 Feb 1917: I add more MFs to Infantry Equipment and Fokker CAS aircraft. We have captured Novgorod so I send 4 more divisions from 5th Army to Petrograd. 28 Feb 1917: A defeat? 8 old destroyers sunk a battleship and a light cruiser. Give them some medals. We have only 137 dead! Almost a Sunday stroll....
