Germany - HOI4 - Blitzkrieg2.0

06 Jun 1937: The plan is to attack in the south and contain/engage in the north.
After only a few hours the Czechs call for the Romanians to join the war.
France can't deliver the rubber I need.....
….so I import it from the UK instead.
17 Jun 1937: Still no breakthrough but the Luftwaffe now has the dive bombing bonus.
I research Radio Detection next.
Three attacks are going our way - when shall we penetrate their defences?
23 Jun 1937: The region south of Brno is about to give....
26 Jun 1937: The reserve units have broken through and have captured Brno.
29 Jun 1937: More forces join in and the gap will soon be widened.
02 Jul 1937:  More sad news but we are pressing the attack home.
04 Jul 1937: There is now a huge gap in their defences east of Brno and north of Bratislava. Guderian's Panzer are ready to exploit the gap.
14 Jul 1937: Bratislava has fallen and I've ordered von Manstein's divisions to charge eastwards. The focus Extra Research Slot has completed.
I use the extra slot to research the doctrine Elastic Defence.
I choose Oppose Hitler as my next focus. This is a huge gamble because I am counting on defeating the Romanians within the 70 day research period. I hate to think of the alternative.
15 Jul 1937: The Spanish Civil War begins! We are at the gates of Prague and I send 7 more divisions to force the attack.
We still have a lot to accomplish because the Czechs are only 37% towards capitulation. Our losses are almost double theirs. We have the initiative though.
Now it's official.
16 Jul 1937: A huge gap in their lines south of Prague and I order 4 divisions through it and capture Plzen.
28 Jul 1937: Czechoslovakia has capitulated and I annex the state lock, stock and barrel.
29 Jul 1937: The Panzer III has been researched so I select the StuG III next.
22 Aug 1937: The bulk of Rundstedt's Armeegruppe 1 has now arrived at the Romanian border and we are threatening to break through their left flank.
01 Sep 1937: I need more oil (from the US)….
….and more tungsten from France.
12 Sep 1937 and Guderian's Panzers have captured the Ploesti oilfields.
13 Sep 1937: The capital Bucharest has fallen and capitulation must be near.
There is the confirmation.
Mission accomplished within the 70 days. No time to sit back though because the German civil war will soon begin.

Italy - HOI4 - Danzig or War?

06 Apr 1939 - Let us stroll around Europe and survey the mood at the brink of war. The Soviets have a very bad opinion of Germany. That is good news. My wars did that. The same in France. That is very good news. Poland needs all the friends it can get. To be expected. 07 April and the insatiable Adolf Hitler is grabbing more territory. 20 Apr 1939 and Radio Detection has been researched. I now select Advanced Machine Tools . I must keep my industry as modern as possible. I'm satisfied with the situation. 09 May 1939 and Computing Machine research is completed. I can now research Decryption-Frequency Analysis . It sounds interesting, 14 Jun 1939 - Decision day for Poland and they quite rightly presumed that Germany would want more than Danzig alone. Germany now has a justification to attack Poland (game rules). Meanwhile at home my next focus will be Carrier Effort . Prussia - HOI4 - Drang Nach Osten (I)

06 Feb 1917: The Soviets call Georgia into the conflict.... ….and Mongolia too. 11 Feb 1917: Deep penetrations on the Northern Front. 12 Feb 1917: I divert a few divisions from 6th Army south then east to support the southern flank. 14 Feb 1917: The first naval battle ends in a German victory. 19 Feb 1917: I order a couple of divisions to advance on the Soviet capital Petrograd. Two weeks into the campaign and the road to Moscow appears to be free of defenders. Oh, we have lost air superiority over Eastern Germany. 23 Feb 1917: I deploy 6 air wings from my reserves to remedy the situation, 26 Feb 1917: We are at the gates of both Petrograd and Moscow. 27 Feb 1917: I add more MFs to Infantry Equipment and Fokker CAS aircraft. We have captured Novgorod so I send 4 more divisions from 5th Army to Petrograd. 28 Feb 1917: A defeat? 8 old destroyers sunk a battleship and a light cruiser. Give them some medals. We have only 137 dead! Almost a Sunday stroll....
