Germany - HOI4 - Soviet Capitulation and the Aftermath
18 Mar 1942: The Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger is now available. Too late for this campaign though,
The MP 43 will prove to be useful.
21 Mar 1942: Now what is happening in France? Do I need to be concerned?
22 Mar 1942: I deploy 10 assault divisions from recruitment early.
Then assign them to man the Westwall defences.
It shouldn't be too much of a problem. They are at war with the Soviets and are in the Allies so why did they cancel the Non-Aggression Pact with us? They were the ones who asked for it if I remember rightly....
While I'm away from the Russian Front let's get some more War Bonds.
Military Factories and Refineries have construction priority.
I am also doing fine with Trade.
Meanwhile at the frontline. We sunk a Soviet cruiser in the Black Sea - they have no ports there....
A temporary threat where two armies meet is remedied.
Further south we need to roll-up the front a little.
Where are the Soviet defences?
I order Armee SüdOst from the Caucasus to support our drive to the Urals.
23 Mar 1942: Now I can send Rommel's army to the border with France. It will take a while to get there.
For some reason I need more tungsten. Probably because more MFs are available for production.
16 Apr 1942: It is almost the end for the Soviets. A matter of days not weeks.
22 Apr 1942: And there it is.....the end of the Soviet Union and the birthplace of the communist revolution.
They appear to have run out of equipment. The PPSh-41's will be useful though.
We need more imports! Tungsten from the US....
….and oil from Venezuela.
The negotiations begin and Germany has the most VPs. I grab the Caucasus oilfields and ensure that we have a land route back to the Heimat. I can't go below the Hungarian total of 490 VPs.
I don't know what they took but I don't see anything on the map. I Pass to collect more points then select more Soviets SSRs.
I Pass again....
….then take more states.
This time the 'Pass' gives me beaucoup points.
I take what I want then click on 'Done'.
23 Apr 1942: That is the end of the negotiations and here is the Treaty of Petsamo (a small Finnish Arctic port, ironic.) A democratic Russian Federation has been created.
15 months of war has changed Europe and probably the world. There is a lot of reconstruction to be done and I need to beef up my Luftwaffe to match the Royal Air Force.
I'm looking forward to peace in our times. Bis bald....
